If I was to get married on the South Coast, Crooked River Winery in Gerringong would have to be high on the list of top locations. For Maria and Chris, the Winery laid on all it's charm (with a little help from Mother Nature!). Warm and sunny, with a cool nor'easter blowing in off the ocean to keep things comfortable. Lush green surrounded us on all sides, from the manicured lawns, to the new growth on the vines, and the hills above Gerringong.
I've been pretty lucky with my wedding clients so far - you hear lots of stories about bridezilla's, the occasional groomzilla, and demanding parents. I've yet to have any of this happen to me (touch wood!!!). Maria and Chris were no exception at all. From our first meeting I felt like we clicked (sorry, bad photographer's pun!). We had a great little engagement shoot at the Winery before the wedding.
Happily, the good times continued all the way up until the wedding day! And I was stoked to discover that all their friends and family were just as much fun to be around :).
My day started off with the boys in one of the amazing houses along Tasman Dr (if you're not familiar with Gerringong, then Tasman Dr is definitely one of the more prestigious addresses in town, with unbeatable views!). Needless to say we had some fun down in the games room, then took a stroll across to the headland to take in the views.
I left the boys to their Chivas Regal and headed up to the Winery, where Maria and the girls where getting made even more beautiful than their usual stunning selves by Zoe Dellis. Gerringong's Elka's Garden supplied the stunning floral arrangements.
To say Maria scrubbed up well is clearly the understatement of the century...
They were married under one of the fabulous fig trees on the property, with sunshine and bubbles aplenty!
The bridal party looked so good that I had to steal them for some photos among the vines and fig trees...
Then Maria, Chris and I stole off to get some beach action!
Closely followed by some headland action...
...where Chris proceeded to throw Maria off the cliff.
From my point of view, the reception fills in a lot of gaps... I already feel like I've made these new friends, and I even managed to jag an invite to the wedding! But the best part is, I get to listen to the speeches and find out all the cheeky shenanigans that they've gotten up to!!! Not to mention I often find out we have a lot more in common than I thought - for example, Maria and Chris apparently have an insatiable wander lust (as do I), so it was great to hear about all their adventures so far :).
With the speeches out of the way, I stole the newly weds for one last photo among the vines...
Thank you Maria and Chris for inviting me to be part of your day - I had a blast!!!
